First dip of the year and a chance for Gary to get wet for the first time in over 4 months! Yes, there was dust on his tins.
We picked Blue Lagoon because both of us were testing new kit. Gary had a new light setup for his camera rig and I had a new wide-angle lense for mine.
As this place doesn't open till 10am, it was a respectable start allowing us to get there in good time. Turns out there was no rush anyway as we were the only ones diving there appart from a couple staff moving buoys.
So a quick cup-of-tea and a saussage and bacon butty (which was VERY nice), we kitted up and jumped in.

The water wasn't as cold as espected, a respectable 6 deg. After a little messing with our new kit, we headed off intending to film the plane then over to the tank.
Unfortunately we missed it, that's right, the plane that you trip over on the way in, we missed!
So after a few mins, we surfaced to see where we were and headed off for the tank.

After a good look at the tank, we headed off for the small boat at the back. I was very impressed by the extra image I could get in frame with my new lense compared to before.
After the boat we went for the container but again missed it. Surfacing revealed we'd almost swum a complete circle! That'll teach me to follow my compass religiously.
By this time we were starting to get a little cold, so it was decided to leave that container for dive 2 and get a cup-of-tea.

After a relaxing surface interfal and a couple cups of tea (well it was cold), we jumped back in to finish off our cylinders.
Again, we intended to capture the plane, then onto the platform and longer boat, before heading right towards the gun.
Again failing to see the plane we carried on. and after the boat and a few minutes swimming we surfaced admitting defeat on finding the gun.

Turns out we were right next to it, but due to the low viz, didn't spot it. Actually it was a good job we surfaced, else we'd have been over the far end of the lake like last time.
After the gun (which is now standing upright, the top of which is only a couple of feet below the water) we surfaced over to the container.
This is were the light on Gary's camera came into its own. I had a D4 but couldn't be arsed to use it.
By the time we'd finished in the container we were down to around 60 bar so we headed back to shore.
A good days diving for the first of 2007. Gary was happy with his new light setup but wants to alter the umbilical a little to stop it dangling. I was very pleased with my new lense and in the water it wasn't as front heavy as I feared.
Turns out they'd moved the plane which is why we never found it. Apparently its now at the back to make room for new wrecks being introduced in the lake.
